Barbara Rush, the acclaimed actress known for It Came from Outer Space and Peyton Place, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at 97. Her daughter, Fox News correspondent Claudia Cowan, shared that Barbara waited for her return before passing on Easter, a holiday she loved. Born January 4, 1927, in Denver and raised in Santa Barbara, California, Rush began acting at the Pasadena Playhouse and signed with Paramount Pictures in 1950.

She debuted in The Goldbergs and gained fame in sci-fi films like When Worlds Collide and It Came from Outer Space, earning a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer in 1954. She starred in Magnificent Obsession, The Young Lions, and The Young Philadelphians, sharing the screen with Marlon Brando, Paul Newman, and Rock Hudson. On television, she was Marsha Russell on Peyton Place, appeared in Batman, Magnum P.I., Murder, She Wrote, and Fantasy Island, and later starred in All My Children, Flamingo Road, and as Ruth Camden on 7th Heaven from 1997 to 2007, with her final acting credit at age 90. Her seven-decade career left a lasting impact on film and television.
