Influencer Stacey Warnecke’s husband Nathan is remembering his late wife’s final moments before she died from childbirth complications.
In an emotional post shared by Nathan on Oct. 19 to the Natural Spoonfuls Instagram account — where Stacey posted recipes for over 19,000 followers — the grieving husband announced that his wife had successfully delivered their son Axel on Sept. 29 but experienced an “extremely rare complication” and died at a local hospital shortly after.
In the comments of Nathan’s initial announcement, he continued to open up about his wife’s final moments with their newborn son.

“She loved being pregnant and over the last 9 months told our son she loved him everyday,” he wrote. “She held Axel when he was born, nursed him, saw that he was a boy and loved him. She loved him so much and still, continues to love him.”

Stacey first started her company, Natural Spoonfuls, in 2019, where she partnered with food brands and shared original recipes. She also grew a large following of thousands of people on Instagram, where she would post some of her tastiest creations.
In his post, Nathan — who married Stacey last year — shared that he had known her for nine “amazing” years, calling her “the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning.”
“Words can’t do justice to how devastating this is for myself and everyone that knew and loved her,” he continued. “She was my lighthouse in the storm and the world is less bright without her in it.”
He also shared that, during their relationship, the pair traveled to several countries together, including visiting fjords in Norway and blue lakes in Switzerland.

“I’m so happy that we got to share these memories together,” he wrote. “They’re ones I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

In a subsequent post shared to Natural Spoonfuls by the couple’s friend Jon Downie, he wrote that he had started a GoFundMe to honor his “beautiful friend Stacey and support her family in the way she always supported those she loved.”
“Seeing Nathan step into fatherhood and witnessing firsthand the bond he shares with Axel is pure magic,” wrote Downie on Instagram. “Stacey is there with them—in every cuddle, every smile, every quiet moment of love.”
Continued Downie in the GoFundMe description: “Nathan is not one to ask for help, however we know he will need assistance. With love and support we know he will succeed and be an amazing father to Axel. There is no doubt the financial prospects from here for Nathan are significant. Nathan will be unable to return to work as planned for the near future.”
The fundraiser has garnered over $20,000 so far, which Downie noted will be used for funeral costs, baby supplies, childcare costs and additional financial support for Nathan as he takes time away from work.
