She died in the hospital two days after a car accident in her home city of Chihuahua, Mexico, Mexican newspaper El Financiero reported.

Campos rose to fame in 2018 after starring on MasterChef México, where she placed sixth in the culinary competition. One year later, she appeared on MasterChef México: La Revancha (“The Revenge”).

On August 2, Campos collided with a parked vehicle around 6:30 a.m. local time on the Periférico R Almada highway, according to the State Public Security Secretariat. Despite being rushed to Christus Muguerza Hospital, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

Campos’ brother, Raúl Campos, confirmed her death in a message posted to Facebook.

“To family and friends. We inform and mourn the death of my sister Yanin Campos,” he wrote on Monday. “The wake is at Hernández Funeral. Starting today at 12 noon. For those who like to say goodbye and join us.”
