Joe Exotic’s husband has been deported to Mexico after he was released from a Texas prison.

Exotic (whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage) previously shared in an Instagram post that 33-year-old Jorge Marquez Flores was taken to an ICE Detention Center for his hearing to either remain in the U.S. or be deported to Mexico. TMZ reported that he was deported just a few hours later.

The Tiger King star confirmed the deportation of Flores via social media. In the post, Maldonado-Passage said he was still communicating with ICE agents as he pleaded with President Donald Trump to help reunite him with his husband.

“Rough day getting around. The ICE agents didn’t understand why he got sent back so fast. He had s hearing scheduled for tomorrow,” Maldonado-Passage, 62, wrote on Instagram on Monday, May 19. “@realdonaldtrump just let me go to Mexico and you can keep Carole Baskin. I’m exhausted trying to figure out why you won’t listen to the evidence.”

On Monday, April 21, the Tiger King star announced that he had wed Flores while the pair were both in prison. He shared a photo on X of himself and his new husband on April 22 to mark the milestone.

“Never been more proud of someone,” Maldonado-Passage’s caption read. “Meet my husband, Jorge Flores Maldonado.”

Maldonado-Passage proudly revealed in October last year that he was set to marry Flores after getting engaged while they were both incarcerated. Soon after, he told Entertainment Weekly that they “love each other very much [and] spend every minute of the day together.”

Maldonado-Passage has been married five times to six partners, including J.C. Hartpence, Brian Rhyne, John Finlay, Travis Maldonado and Dillon Passage. And in 2014, Exotic was married in an unconventional three-way wedding.

In April 2019, Maldonado-Passage was convicted of plotting a murder-for-hire against his nemesis, animal rights activist Carole Baskin. A federal grand jury indictment accused him of hiring two people — one of whom was an undercover FBI agent — to kill her.

The disgraced zookeeper — who bred and kept tigers, lions and other animals at his G.W. Exotic Animal Memorial Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma — was also charged with other crimes, including killing tigers to make way for more big cats at his park.

He served as his own attorney in a federal trial where a jury found him guilty of two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act for falsifying wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.

In January 2020, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison. He currently resides in the Federal Medical Center Fort Worth, per CBS News Texas, which is where he wed Flores.

However, Geffen is set to pay Armstrong spousal support and his attorney’s fees
Billionaire David Geffen has filed for divorce from his husband David Armstrong after less than two years of marriage.

According to the divorce filing, which was obtained by PEOPLE, the 82-year-old music mogul and the 32-year-old dancer (who also goes by Donovan Michaels) did not sign a prenup before marrying in March 2023.

In the petition, filed in Los Angeles on Friday, May 16, Geffen cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.

The couple’s date of separation is marked as Feb. 22, 2025, and celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser is representing Geffen.

TMZ was the first to report the news.

In 1971, Geffen co-founded Asylum Records and he later founded Geffen Records in 1980 and DGC Records in 1990. The mogul also co-founded DreamWorks Records in 1996. He is now retired, and Forbes has reported that his net worth may be around $8.7 billion.

Much of Geffen’s income consists of stocks and equities in property, and California law states that dividends from stocks remain separate, probably leaving Armstrong without much cash in the split, according to TMZ. However, California law also requires divorce petitioners to pay spousal support for half the length of the marriage, meaning that Armstrong would receive payments for one year.

Geffen will also pay his now-estranged husband’s spousal support and attorney’s fees, per the filing.

Geffen was previously romantically linked to Cher in the 1970s, and later came out as gay in 1992.

Although Geffen and Armstrong have not shared how they met, the New York Post previously reported that Armstrong, who used to work as a model, dancer and fitness instructor, trained Geffen.

Although the two were private about their relationship over the course of their marriage, Geffen shared photos of himself and Armstrong on Instagram, including in December 2021, when he posted a now-deleted photo of the pair enjoying time together on his mega yacht, the Rising Sun (valued at $400 million).

“Merry Christmas indeed!” Geffen captioned the photo.
