The journey we’ve been on with Loren has been a rollercoaster, full of unexpected twists, hurdles, and moments of hope. Over the past few days, we’ve been taking a much-needed breather.
With everything happening in our lives, it felt like the right moment to pause, recharge, and spend some time reflecting on how far we’ve come. But even in those quiet moments, life seems to find a way of keeping us on our toes.
Earlier this week, we were scheduled to go back to the Helena prosthetics place. We’ve been eagerly anticipating the next steps in Loren’s recovery, especially after the last round of adjustments. It’s a process that we know takes time, but when you see the progress, it’s worth the wait.
Unfortunately, the visit had to be postponed. The prosthetics team let us know that not all the parts had arrived yet, and while that was a bit of a letdown, we couldn’t help but smile. Life has a funny way of throwing in these unexpected delays. But it’s okay.
We understand that the team is working tirelessly to make sure that everything is just right, and we’re all about being patient and letting the process unfold. Soon enough, we’ll be back at it, and Loren will take another step forward in this long and challenging journey.
However, amidst the calmness of the past few days, Loren’s health took another unexpected turn. The last round of antibiotics we had hoped would defeat his latest C-diff infection didn’t have the desired effect.
It’s been a battle. One that we didn’t see coming, but we’re not ones to shy away from challenges. We quickly found ourselves back in the hospital, Loren in tow, trying to make sense of it all. The hospital visit was nothing short of overwhelming, but one thing stood clear through the chaos: Loren’s spirit.
Even in the sterile, cold hospital room, Loren kept his usual upbeat personality.

Good news! Loren is finally home! After everything, it feels so good to be back in the comfort of our own space. The infections are now under control, and we couldn’t be more relieved. Of course, we’re still facing some challenges.
Loren is dealing with some painful constipation, but we’re optimistic that this, too, will pass soon enough. It’s always something, isn’t it? But even through these tough moments, Loren’s spirit remains unshaken. He’s continuing to fight, and we’re right here beside him, every step of the way.
So, as Loren rests and heals, we’re doing what we always do: staying positive, looking ahead, and finding joy in the little moments.
