“It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error,” he said of his weight loss journey. “And even still to this day … when you’re saying, oh, before and after photos … I don’t feel like I’m an after yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point”

Christopher Schwarzenegger is getting candid about his dramatic weight loss transformation.

On Saturday, May 10, Christopher, the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, spoke at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in Los Angeles about getting into shape. He shared that the process has taken him more than five years.

“It was a big process,” the 27-year-old said during a panel discussion with Shriver, Kelly Osbourne and the event’s host, Jeff Beacher. “I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, ‘Oh, I’m going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia,’ and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.”

“I was like, ‘I want to go skydiving.’ And my friends were like, ‘Yeah, no shot.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I can’t skydive,’ ” he recalled.

According to Christopher, his insecurity about his weight dates back to his high school years, when he would bring customized lunches to school to help him eat healthier.

“I tried everything. I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,” he shared during the panel discussion, which marked one of the first times he spoke publicly about his weight.

“It’s not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error,” the University of Michigan graduate added. “And even still to this day … when you’re saying, oh, before and after photos … I don’t feel like I’m an after yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point.”

Many fans first became aware of Christopher’s weight loss when he made an appearance in West Hollywood, Calif., last month and was photographed going out to dinner in a slim-fitting navy-blue shirt and khakis with his brother Patrick Schwarzenegger.

During Saturday’s panel, Christopher shared that giving up one food item during a religious occasion helped him lose 30 pounds in the span of less than two months.

“Weirdly enough, I gave up bread for Lent,” he said of the 40-day Christian religious observance. “I don’t know if anyone’s Catholic in here, but I gave up bread for Lent.”

“I was like, ‘Well, if I’m giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I’m a good Catholic boy, so I’m not going to break it,’ ” he recalled. “And that was my one rule. I was like, ‘I’m not going to break Lent.’ And so I lost 30 pounds just through that.”

Although Christopher hasn’t been particularly candid about his fitness journey in the past, in 2021, Patrick, 31, praised his brother’s enthusiasm for working out in a now-deleted Instagram post, Page Six reported.

“Proud of you. New job. Crushing in the gym. Whole new person. Can’t wait to see what this year brings,” The White Lotus star wrote about his younger sibling.

Kate Gosselin Shares Rare Photo of Most of Sextuplets on Their 21st Birthday

Kate and Jon Gosselin’s kids are all grown up!

On Sunday, May 11, Kate shared a series of photos on Instagram featuring four of the pair’s sextuplets — Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel — as they celebrated their 21st birthday. “And just like that, they turned 21! Happy Birthday to my 6! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #GosselinSextuplets” she captioned the snaps.

Hannah and Collin Gosselin — who were notably missing from the post — live with their father, Jon. The pair also share twin daughters Mady and Cara, 24. The family sprang to notoriety via their reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which aired from 2007 to 2017.

Collin and Kate have an especially fractured relationship, though there are plenty of signs the two could eventually mend things.

In October 2024, Collin told The U.S. Sun, “So, first and foremost, my relationship with my brothers and sisters is of top priority to me. And I think the only way that my mother and I would be able to reconnect and fix our relationship in the future is, if she would just come forward with the truth and all the things that she has kept under wraps.”

He added: “And you know the many times that she’s tried to soil my name and my father’s name. I just would want her to come forward with the truth. [But] yes, that door would be open, 100 percent.”

Jon was granted custody of Collin in 2018 after the young boy wrote a letter to his father from a mental health facility. At the time, Collin said Kate institutionalized him to cover up an alleged abuse. “I was starting to tell people what was going on at home, and she caught wind of that and had to put me somewhere where I wouldn’t be able to get the secrets out,” he claimed.

Collin also told The U.S. Sun Kate forced him to live in a closet. “My mother had a room built in our unfinished section of the storage basement. She had a room put up with cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner and it was bolt-locked from the outside,” he told the outlet.“It was like a containment room, literally, and it had a mattress on the floor and that’s how I lived.”

He further insisted his mother “zip-tied my hands and feet together and bolt locked the door, turned the lights off and had cameras there just watching me.”

Kate denied the allegations in July 2023. She told People at the time Collin “received multiple psychiatric diagnoses” and had “many attacks/outbursts.”

“All measures that were taken in our home were at the explicit recommendation of his pediatric psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists and were put into place to safeguard every member of our family, our friends as well as our family pets. … Collin remains a very troubled young man who continues to need a lot of help,” she added.
