Bombshell claim about Presley Gerber’s doctor emerges after his death at 27
Cindy Crawford’s son, Presley Gerber, passed away on Sunday at age 27 in a rumored overdose. Now, new horror details are emerging, as his friends reportedly are blaming a doctor for prescribing Presley ketamine, and his friends are furious.
On Monday, police shared an update on Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindu Crafword’s, death. The 27-year-old had reportedly checked into a rehabilitation clinic in Santa Monica, California, where he died on Sunday. Police are looking into a possible case of overdose.
“Death was pronounced at 09:45 hours on September 20, 2026, by responding paramedics. The Santa Monica Police Department is the investigating law enforcement agency,” a statement read.
“At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The investigation remains ongoing.”
The autopsy was finished on Monday. According to the Department of Medical Examiner’s statement, there is not yet an official cause of death.
“A deputy medical examiner performed an examination today and the cause and manner of death have been deferred, which means additional testing and/or studies were requested in order to make a determination. Due to the ongoing death investigation, the [deputy medical examiner] cannot disclose what testing and/or studies were requested. Deferred cases can take a few months before a cause of death is determined,” the Department of Medical Examiner statement read.

However, as officials investigate a possible overdose, one forensic expert has questioned how he even would’ve gotten his hands on any drugs that could cause an overdose.
“I think my big question, being that this is a rehab center, is: Was he checked? Were any of his visitors checked? Did anybody bring anything in at all?” Forensic analyst Joseph Scott Morgan told NewsNation.
Now, that might have gotten his answer. According to a new, shocking report from TMZ, Presley Gerber’s doctor was reportedly prescribing him ketamine despite knowing about his history of substance abuse.
People who were in regular contact with Presley and have direct knowledge of the situation told the news outlet that a doctor continued giving him ketamine despite being aware of his struggles with addiction.
Ketamine can be used in certain treatments for substance use disorders, although treating drug addiction is not an FDA-approved use of the drug.
Close friends “furious” with doctor
According to TMZ sources, ketamine had been an ongoing problem for Presley. Some of his close friends are reportedly furious that a doctor prescribed it to him, and believe the doctor should be prosecuted.
However, it’s important to note that the exact substances, if any, in Presley’s system when he died are unknown. Presley had spoken openly with close friends about his struggles with ketamine before his death.
Moreover, he was very open about his substance abuse, sharing his journey towards becoming sober on Instagram.
In a 2025 Instagram video, Presley spoke about how he hoped his experiences with substance abuse could help others feel less alone. Also, he admitted that his mental health struggles are “really bad.”
“The benzos have been fluctuating up and down depending on what’s been going on in my life. Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now.”
He added, “I don’t know if it’s a little bit or a lot, who f—ing knows at this point anymore.”
History of substance abuse
Cindy Crawford continued to support her son through the very challenging times. And just two months ago, as Presley Gerber celebrated his 27th birthday, she made a post about him on Instagram.
Happy birthday [Presley], Cindy wrote. “I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy! Love you ❤️”
The ketamine situation is drawing comparisons to the tragic case of Matthew Perry, who died in 2023 after years of struggling with addiction.
Perry had been prescribed ketamine to treat depression and anxiety. He later obtained the drug from other sources, including Jasveen Sangha, who became known as the “Ketamine Queen.”
Sangha was eventually sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in the circumstances surrounding the Friends star’s death.
