Alan Dysert, All My Children star, dies at 75 after being diagnosed with “incurable cancer”
Alan Dysert, known for portraying Sean Cudahy on All My Children, died Friday, October 23, at 75. His wife, Michelle, announced his passing Sunday, remembering an Illinois farm boy who became an actor, filmmaker, musician, and devoted acting teacher. Beyond his screen career, she celebrated his encouragement of thousands of aspiring performers. “He was a life changer!!” she wrote, describing a husband whose storytelling, humor, and presence made their years together anything but ordinary.
Michelle did not disclose a cause of death. In his 2023 memoir, Lights, Camera, Cancer, Dysert detailed a rare, aggressive, incurable cancer diagnosis and extensive treatment. His wife said he faced health challenges with “determination, humor, and gratitude.” Her tribute centered on their travels, laughter, and happiness in simply being together. “I would choose you all over again, without hesitation,” she wrote. Dysert is survived by Michelle and his two sons, Cody and Cooper.
