Fans spot glaring ‘mistake’ with Kylie Jenner’s $50 million Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra

Kylie Jenner made her Victoria’s Secret runway debut Sunday night — but it wasn’t her walk, her wings, or even her famous family watching from the Maudience that had people talking.

Mother and boyfriend in the audience
The 29-year-old beauty mogul was given one of the biggest honors of the entire show, something traditionally associated with some of the most celebrated supermodels in Victoria’s Secret history.

And when fans realized exactly what Kylie Jenner had been chosen to wear, the backlash came fast.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned to Los Angeles with plenty of familiar faces on October 18. Gigi and Bella Hadid were among the stars on the runway, alongside veterans and fan favorites including Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Elsa Hosk, Barbara Palvin, Irina Shayk and Ashley Graham.

Kylie, however, was making her debut.

Her mother, Kris Jenner, and boyfriend Timothée Chalamet were in the audience to support her as she stepped onto the runway.

But there was one detail about her look that immediately set her appearance apart from everyone else.

The detail
Kylie had been chosen to wear the Fantasy Bra.

And not just any Fantasy Bra.

The one-of-a-kind piece, created in collaboration with luxury jeweler Jacob & Co., was valued at a staggering $50 million — reportedly making it the most expensive Fantasy Bra in the show’s history.

The dazzling creation featured around 4,410 natural diamonds totaling 1,373.39 carats, along with a dramatic diamond fringe. At its center sat a huge 75.54-carat Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond.

There was no fabric in the design, according to jeweler Jacob Arabo, making the intricate piece particularly challenging to create in a way that would move naturally on the runway.

But for many longtime Victoria’s Secret fans, the price wasn’t the problem.

It was who got to wear it.

Fans erupt
The Fantasy Bra has long been one of Victoria’s Secret’s most prestigious runway traditions.

Over the years, some of the biggest names in modeling have been selected for the honor, including Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Gisele Bündchen, Claudia Schiffer and Adriana Lima.

That history made Kylie’s selection especially controversial.

Some viewers argued that giving such a coveted moment to a first-time Victoria’s Secret runway model was disrespectful to the veteran Angels and models who had spent years working with the brand.

“Kylie Jenner got the fantasy bra… cancel this sh** right now,” one critic wrote.

“This is UNACCEPTABLE,” another declared, according to reports.

A third questioned the decision, writing: “Out of literally anyone ever why the F**K did they put the fantasy bra on Kylie Jenner.”

Others went even further.

“Kylie Jenner must’ve paid to get the Fantasy Bra because in what world would she have been picked in 2026,” one person commented.

Another complained: “Victoria’s Secret truly out of creativity. Most expensive and yet the most basic. And a kardashian/jenner to cheapen it more.”

One disappointed viewer wrote: “The Victoria’s Secret show was so underwhelming this year. So boring i feel bad for the models who have been there for VS for so long watching Kylie Jenner of all ppl with the fantasy bra???”

There was also criticism over the fit of the multimillion-dollar piece.

“Forget the sheer skirt, the bra doesn’t fit her at all it looks so bad,” one viewer wrote.

Another simply said: “The bra doesn’t fit her.”

“Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the fantasy bra DOESNT EVEN FIT Kylie?” a third asked.

Victoria’s Secret explains
Victoria’s Secret, however, appeared to know that putting Kylie in the Fantasy Bra would get people talking.

Chief creative officer Adam Selman explained that her reach far beyond the traditional fashion world made her a fitting choice for what the brand wanted to achieve.

“Kylie really extends beyond fashion, beyond culture, beyond TV, beyond one singular thing,” he told Vogue.

“That’s the exact same thing that we do. Like, the show is so big, it’s true entertainment, and I think that she is a great catalyst for that,” he continued.

Selman said the concept behind the show was “fandomonium,” and described pairing such an extravagant piece with an unexpected celebrity as part of the idea.

The goal, he explained, was to put the $50 million creation on an “unexpected talent who has a massive following and massive cultural impact.”

“I think it’s fun,” he added. “I think it’s really joyful, and I think it’s fun to celebrate in a different way that people aren’t going to expect.”

Kylie herself appeared thrilled by the opportunity.

“Best day ever,” she wrote on Instagram after the show, sharing a close-up look at the diamond-covered bra.

A star-packed return
Kylie was far from the only celebrity to make headlines during the show.

Tate McRae performed in a red fishnet corset and wings and even shared the runway with Gigi Hadid, while KATSEYE performed “Pinky Up” during the PINK portion of the night.

Megan Thee Stallion appeared in a futuristic silver ensemble complete with dramatic wings, while country singer Megan Moroney made an entrance with fuzzy pink wings and a glittering guitar.

Selman said the show itself was built around the changing seasons, moving through Spring, Summer, Autumn and two Winter sections, with PINK appearing in the middle.
